Emerging reader?

Tonight while I was reading Goodnight Moon to Aidan, he decided to finish the story for me… “goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere.”

Strawberry pickin’

Aidan has discovered the strawberry patch in our side garden… he runs outside and comes back inside with freshly picked strawberries. He will even share with “Baby Sam.”

Love the summer!

Family of talkers

Our little Sam is starting to communicate with us. If you give her something that she does not want, she shakes her head back and forth and says “uh, uh, uh.” She is continuing to request things with a point and “tahat!”

Aidan has started requesting to use his “walking feet” when I take him into preschool in the mornings. As he walks up the stairs to his classroom, he says “Hi, good morning!” to all the parents who are leaving after drop off. Everyone he greets leaves the building with a big smile.

Tweetsie railroad

We took our first family trip to Tweetsie railroad this weekend. Our biggest train fan, Aidan, had a BLAST! He was surprised to see other kids wearing Thomas the train shirts. I was a bit nervous on the ferris wheel, but survived 🙂

Sam is a year old

Today we celebrated Sam’s first birthday. She enjoyed her birthday cupcake and hanging out with friends and family (not to mention all the cool new clothes and toys she got as gifts :-).

Rahul reminded me tonight as we were cleaning up that she is no longer “Baby Sam.” How fast they grow and change!

Big boy!

Aidan is officially drinking from a regular cup at preschool now. Tonight, I asked him to show his daddie how he could drink from a big boy cup… he took a big sip and said “Yeah, big boy!”

Also, he is no longer using his “bop” at preschool. He lost it on the playground Monday, and his teachers could not find it. They waited to see if he asked for it at nap time, and he didn’t. Same thing again today. We had figured that he would still be carrying it around in Kindergarten 🙂

Our little boy is growing up so fast!
