potty news!

Aidan decided this afternoon that he wanted to try to go pee pee in the potty. He marched right up to the potty, sat down and went. After Sam and I cheered for him, he promptly flushed and said “again!” He then dribbled a few more times, with a flush after every dribble, then got off the potty and asked me to put his diaper back on like he had been doing it for years 🙂

Let the potty training begin!

no ma’am

I overheard Aidan talking to Sam this afternoon. She was trying to climb up the stairs. He said “no ma’am Sami.” As I was thinking of where he could have possibly heard that, I remembered that I say that (no ma’am for Sam, no sir for Aidan). I guess Aidan hears more than we think he does!

injury turns into a fun family activity

My ankle has been bugging me after my runs, so I decided to take the kids for a walk on campus after I picked them up from preschool instead of running. When I asked Aidan if he wanted to go to campus (we usually go on the weekends with dad) he said “yeah, campus… tractors!” FYI – there is lots of construction on campus which means lots of trucks, tractors, and various other construction vehicles. Aidan tried to get Sam into the fun today by pointing out blue buses, green buses, orange buses, but she was more interested in propping up her feet and drinking juice under the stroller canopy 🙂
Aidan also says hello to EVERYONE, and I mean everyone from the homeless man on Franklin Street, to the meter maid (who he called a boy, she did not appreciate I am sure!)

What was supposed to be exercise for mom turned into fun for all!

blowing kisses and sharing

What my kiddos do away from home sometimes amazes me… Sam blew me a kiss goodbye this morning from the swings as I was leaving preschool. And, when I picked up Aidan yesterday, one of his teachers commented that he always shares at lunch (and not just the food he does not want to eat 🙂

What cool kids!

first words

Sam’s first words were not Mama, Dada, Aidan, or any of the other family members… instead it was “up, up, up” when she wanted up in her high chair…. A lady who knows how to get what she wants 🙂

Walking feet

Sam decided this afternoon to try out her walking feet for the first time. She took up to 4 steps unassisted and was very proud of herself!

Love for Sam

Today, Sam and I had a “girls day”… we went to Aunt Carrie’s baby shower. Aidan and dad had a “guys day”… playing the park, etc. When we came home, Aidan ran out to the car and said “Where is Sami?” Rahul said he asked about her all aftenoon. While Rahul was grilling out, Aidan went over to Sam at the sand table and gave her a big hug… she loved it! I think they might really love each other.
