This afternoon we were relaxing and playing outside. I found this toad in our back yard. Aidan collected him in a cooler and poked on him for about 30 minutes before I said we had to set him free.
We went to the wading pool for little kids today with Nana. We had to call it the water park b/c Aidan being the bright boy he is, did not want to go when he realized it was not the actual pool at Nana’s condo (can’t go there anymore if you wear diapers).
Aidan had so much fun dunking his head in the water, wading into the waterfalls, manipulating the water sprinklers.
Sam was more of an observer, but she warmed up and took a little dip later on.
Fun afternoon, 2 sleeping children on the ride home 🙂
Tonight Aidan and I were swinging on the front porch waiting for daddie to come home (Miss Samantha was asleep already). When Rahul got home, Aidan asked him to sit down on the front porch with him, looked at him with a very serious expression and said “what’s shakin’ daddie?” I thought we were both going to laugh so hard we would fall down the steps. Both mom and dad use that expression, just never knew Aidan was listening.
What a funny little man!
Sam polished off a container of blackberries this afternoon, courtesy of our local co-op grocery (the blackberries growing in our front yard are “all finished” as Aidan says). I snapped this pic of Sam enjoying her snack.
PS – finally figured out how to post pictures on the blog, so look for more to come!
Rahul got off of work early yesterday and went to pick up the kiddos from preschool with me. We got Aidan first, he ran across the room (completely ignoring mom) and jumped into his dad’s arms. Sam did pretty much the same thing from a crawling stance.
Mom, the invisible parent when dad comes to preschool!
Ok, so Rahul got “dada” before “mama” with Aidan, but Sam asked for her “mama” on Sat when Rahul was trying to put her to bed. Her first words might have been “up up up” but “mama” came in as a close second!
