where could it be?

Sam has become quite mischievous these days… I got some new vent covers for the downstairs heat registers and while I was measuring the old vent cover in the sunroom, she deposited her shoe in the vent hole. At first I did not make the connection b/t the lost shoe and my household project, but later on figured out that was the only place the lost shoe could be. Then I started visioning the shoe making its way down to the heat pump, setting the house on fire, etc. So, I retrieved the shoe with a clothes hanger. Strong work by mommy!

Bedtime funnies

Tonight was particularly chaotic at our house… neither child took their afternoon nap. We gave them their baths and then started eating dinner when Aidan announced, “I’m tired.” We both laughed b/c of course he was exhausted after running around at the museum and not getting any rest time!

Then, as I was reading Goodnight Moon to Sam before putting her to bed, she surprised me by doing her version of “ssshh” when I read the line… goodnight from the old lady whispering hush.

We need to try to remember to stop and laugh at these funny moments in the midst of the chaos of having 2 little people in the house 🙂

learning from each other

It seems that our children can learn new skills from each other. Today, Aidan shared a Thomas train with Sam, and she reciprocated. When it was time to clean up, Sam showed Aidan how easy it could be. Let the learning and sharing continue!

getting ready for Halloween

I decided to get out the old Halloween costumes to see if any would fit the kiddos this year. Well, we have 2 costumes that fit, now I just have to figure out how to get them to take the costumes off!

one-sided conversation

This was Aidan’s conversation with me this morning… “Wake up mommy….watch Rocket? Yes? Ok, let’s go!” The only problem with this conversation is that mommy did not say anything 🙂
