Spring is around the corner!

We have had a 5 day stretch of cold and rainy weather, so today’s sunshine was a nice change. The kids and I checked out the gardens this afternoon and found some new flowers blooming. Here are some pics of our finds.

Sam found Ramses!

Sam I did our weekly Trader Joe’s shopping trip this afternoon. There was a contest going on this week…if you can find Ramses in the store, you get a prize. Guess who found Ramses in the bread section – Samantha Shimpi! She was very proud, but kept telling the manager that she found the Tar Heel 🙂

Of course after getting her reward and balloon, she asked for another balloon in DOOK blue for her brother who was at speech. What a cool little lady!

first interaction with the police

As we were waiting at the stop light on the way home this afternoon, Aidan asked me to roll down his window. It was unseasonably warm, so I did as he asked (once I got the always required please 🙂 The next thing I know, Aidan is chatting it up with a police officer in the car next to us. Here is what Aidan had to say to our very friendly officer:

“My name is Aidan. This is my sister Sam. I was a good listener at school today. I did not do anything wrong, I promise. Are you a nice police officer? We are listening to Superman in our truck.”

What a funny little guy.

Thanks Big Daddy

So the kids love to watch Big Daddy’s House on The Food Network. Tonight I made one of his dishes – spicy swiss chard. I told the kids we were eating “Big Daddy’s Spinach” and they gobbled up half of what I made! I took pictures so that Rahul would believe me (he is working late tonight).

Amazing…children will eat veggies if you use the right presentation. Thanks Big Daddy!

Snow in March??

We woke up to 3 inches of snow this morning. It has been super chilly, so the kids have been less interested in playing outside this time around. Here are some pics of our last snow of the season (hopefully!)
