Monthly Archives: April 2009
Here are pics of some of the additions to the gardens this year – cilantro, strawberries, tomatoes & peppers.
Also planted: squash, cantaloupe, basil & parsley.
I decided to try an upside tomato planter this year. It will be interesting to see if I get a better crop this way.
Love digging in the dirt – nothing more fun!
A parent visited in Samantha’s classroom at school this morning. Samantha was interested in her right away. She followed this mom around the room asking her over and over if she had braces on her teeth. The parent finally answered yes. Samantha followed up with the following question: “So did you suck your thumb when you were a little kid?”
In an effort to get Aidan to stop sucking his thumb, we have been showing him pictures of braces…oops!
When do children develop that “filter” that helps them stop and think before they speak???
At breakfast this morning, the kids were asking if we could grow an apple tree in our back yard. Daddy and I did a little research on the computer, and it turns out you can grow apple trees in our area. The kids and I prepared the spot while daddy went off to find us a tree. Rahul did tell the kids that it would probably be Aidan’s 7yr birthday and Sam’s 5yr birthday before we actually have any apples 🙂
Here is our tree.
