Christmas tree for the birds

Samantha and I continued the tradition of making a tree for the birds with our very dry Christmas tree this morning. We are watching to see who visits for a snack first 🙂

Christmas Day and more

Santa delivered not one, but two Fancy Nancy dolls. He also brought the much anticipated Polar Express Lionel Train Set.

We celebrated more today with Nana, Kevin, Carrie & Samuel. On mommy’s to do list today was to get an updated family picture – mission accomplished!

Christmas Eve at Wilson Park

Aidan listed this as one of our holiday family traditions for a school assignment this year. It was good to see friends from the kids’ preschool this morning and celebrate Christmas Eve at Wilson Park. The highlight for Samantha was sitting with Sally in her dad’s warm car listening to Christmas songs. Here are some pics of the fun.

Aidan as the Gingerbread Man

Aidan was the star of the show today at school. His class performed The Gingerbread Man play, and Aidan was the gingerbread man. He did a great job remembering his lines (and even helped out a friend with her lines too 🙂 The video is approximately 7 minutes, hope you enjoy!

Spirit Week

This week is school spirit week. Today was “Twilight Tuesday” which means students wore pajamas to school. Tomorrow is “Wacky Wednesday” which means students are supposed to wear a crazy outfit. The kids had a blast this afternoon picking out their wacky outfits. Here is a preview of the wackiness 🙂

my new running buddies

Aidan went for a run with me when we were visiting MeMa and PPops over Thanksgiving. He was actually a pretty good runner and said it helped him get his “energy out.” So, I brainstormed ways to include both kiddos on my daily runs and came up with the idea of a jogging stroller for Samantha and running shoes for Aidan. We tried it out today for the first time. Both of them loved it! Samantha had her gloves and mittens in case she got too cold, Aidan had to do some “power walks” but did a good job keeping up. And, it was actually more challenging for me as well since the stroller weighs 20lbs and Samantha is an additional 32lbs. She can ride in this stroller up to 50lbs, so we should get a few years out of it!
