I thought I would post some recent pics of my square foot gardens.
potatoes, arugula, swiss chard, carrots
romaine lettuce, broccoli, sugar snap peas
spinach, broccoli, leaf lettuce, swiss chard

The cabbage worms destroyed my collards. My broccoli plants are trying to recover after I sprayed them on a morning when the afternoon temps were in the upper 90s (oops).
Samantha’s first wiggly tooth finally came out (with a little help from mommy 🙂 She was super scared, but equally excited about the idea of a visit from the tooth fairy.
Aidan also had his first ride on his new bike. Still working on how to get started by himself, but he had a big smile the entire time he was riding 🙂
I noticed little holes on my collard and broccoli plant leaves this week. A closer inspection showed little cabbage worms. Aidan and I got some organic spray yesterday that is supposed to get rid of them. Fingers crossed it works, otherwise these 2 veggies will not be on next year’s fall planting list.
I have been looking into getting a bike for a while. It is the first step in starting to train for the Ramblin’ Rose women only triathlon. I found one on Craigslist that fits me perfectly. Aidan has been asking for a bike since he learned how to ride his friend Nathan’s last spring. So, since today was an early release day from school we went out in search of a bike for Aidan and a bike trailer for Samantha (she prefers to be pulled along with drinks, snacks and stuffed animals 🙂
Now, the last steps are to get daddy a bike and a bike rack for the car. We should be a bike-riding family soon…and I need to get busy re-learning how to ride a bike. It has been a long time 🙂
Samantha has finally reached the magic number to ride in a booster seat!
Samantha completed her first homework assignment this weekend. This is her puzzle piece describing her likes and interests for the class community puzzle. What a neat homework activity…Kindergarten is so much fun!
Samantha passed off some of her dinner the other night to George. This is his official post from now on at dinnertime. What a good boy…he waits so patiently 🙂
