Today we went to Monkey Joe’s with Nana and Samuel. Here are some pics of our fun!
Today we had a playdate with the Ackermans (Zoe and Jack). We went to Open Gym at the Tumble Gym, had lunch at Subway, then my kiddos said farewell to me and went home with the Ackermans for a few more hours of fun. They really needed a good outing after being stuck at home with the snow. Here is a pic of Samantha and Zoe as they took over the Subway lounge area 🙂
I realized yesterday that we are in serious need of some real snow gear at our house. Neither of my children have waterproof gloves, Aidan is wearing Rahul’s snow boots from when he was a kid, and I am using some hiking boots from the early 90’s as my snow boots. Never fear, some good snow gear is on its way to us from REI.com this week 🙂
We did go out for one last sledding adventure this afternoon. Aidan discovered a hump in the giant hill he prefers to use. Here is a video of him on “hump hill.” Samantha had enough sense to avoid this activity. And, yes that is me laughing at him.
It started snowing last night, which means we technically had a white Christmas this year! The snow was still falling until around lunchtime today, and our area got approximately 6 inches total. All this snow could only mean one thing…sledding time!!
Here are some pics of our snow, snowman, and sledding fun today.
What a wonderful Christmas morning at our house! Santa brought both kids Nintendo DS Lites, Bakugans and Big Boy train things for Aidan, and TONS of frog things for Samantha. And, Rahul earned the best dad in the world award for putting together the model train 🙂
Per our family tradition, we watched A Christmas Story and spent most of the day hanging out in our pajamas.
Today we went with Mema and PPops to the Brookside Gardens Conservatories. One featured a train exhibit by the Washington, Virginia & Maryland Garden Railway Society. Click here for more information.
The kids had a blast! Samantha liked the plants more than the trains, and I will let you guess where Aidan stood on the issue 🙂
They have been freakishly well-behaved on this trip, even after having to sit in 6+ hrs of traffic. What good travelers they can be!
Tomorrow we head home to get ready for Santa’s arrival.
