The kids actually had school today, a half-day snow make up day. Rahul and I used our free morning to take a nice bike ride on the American Tobacco Trail.
The temps were in the 90s again, so we were grateful for the pool. Here is a pic of my 3 favorite things this holiday –
And, here is one of my 4th favorite things….and the reason I have to swim/bike/run 🙂 Rahul loves to feed me yummy dinners.
Lastly, RIP evil horsefly that made Samantha get out of the pool this afternoon.
I asked Aidan to take some pics of me swimming for my training blog. He did exactly what I asked.
Then Samantha started fooling around in front of the camera, and he became more interested in her funny faces for his pics.
Later, as we listed to Foo Fighters, I snapped a pic of Aidan pretending he was Dave Grohl.
What started as a serious photo shoot, turned into a hilarious afternoon.
The Barnetts came over after school today for a pool playdate.
The grapes seemed to be more fun than swimming 🙂
Lots of creatures in the pool today. A brown snake and a toad that Samantha saved from the snake. Sadly, the snake looked a lot like a baby copperhead (oh, and the kids said they would not get back in the water unless daddy killed it) so he did not make it long after leaving the pool. But, now we know that little aggressive snakes with copperhead-like markings are not always evil. Live and learn, right? Enjoy some nature pics from this afternoon 🙂
It was so nice this weekend! The first real sunny weekend of the spring/summer season. We had a lot of projects that needed to get done. Fun things like cleaning out gutters, making a trench for the pool back wash water, spraying Round Up on the ever growing weeds in the back woods. We did also take time to hang out at the pool.
Samantha was very interested in checking out her flowers in the raised bed next to the pool. She really does have a green thumb 🙂
And, Rahul made this for dinner… I am one lucky lady!
Kindergarten Parent Day was a hit! The students sang songs for all the parents, gave out lots of homemade presents, and we had a picnic lunch. A great way to end the school week.
