For those that do not keep up with my Teach Social First blog, I posted about our disappointing news from Think Social Publishing and our plan for how to proceed with our program in May. Click here for that post.
Ginny and I met a few weeks ago to start working on our children’s book idea and made a lot of progress, but our ideas have just been sitting on my desk to finish up collecting dust. I decided today was the day to get it done. This is how I did it:
1) Smooch is at the vet all day getting spayed. Samantha cried when we dropped her off b/c she remembers when Sawyer had the same surgery and died. I stressed and stressed that Smooch would be fine. She does love that dog.
2) Aidan is at rock climbing camp.
3) Samantha is at Lucy’s for a playdate.
This gave me 5.5 hrs of uninterrupted time to finish up the book proposal and get it ready to submit to 3 publishing agencies we have identified as good matches for our subject matter. With an hour to spare (and a quick trip to the grocery) here they are…..3 complete proposals ready to mail!
Fingers crossed one of the agencies wants to publish our book. And, wow it felt great to use my brain today. I feel like all I have done for the past 5 months is say “sit, leave it, heel, come.”
