Some pics from our visit to Pasos y Pedales….
Lots of plane delays due to bad weather, lots of waiting in airport terminals and on tarmacs, but we made it to Guatemala City around 1:45am our time. To say we were tired would be a gross understatement…..but we made it!
The one positive side of all that time on planes was a visit to the cockpit. Check out these pilots –
We had breakfast with some of Samantha’s foster family this morning, then headed to Pasos y Pedales. On Sundays 3km of city streets are taken over by skaters, bikers, dog walkers. There are also playgrounds with horse rides and other fun activities for kids. More pics later….we are waiting for our ride to Antigua!
We found out today that BOTH kiddos will move up to the next group for the swim team long course! This means more meets, more practices, and more swimming fun!
Our new practice schedule will be M, T, W, Th 5-6pm. SUPER happy to get rid of the Friday 6-6:45pm practice time…it was so hard to get motivated to go back out for practice after getting home from school. This new schedule also means more crock pot dinners for our family, which does require planning but also helps us make healthier choices.
Wish us luck as we try to coordinate 2 school schedules, soccer, Girls TALK, Cub Scouts, guitar, swim team, ballet, church….oh and work!
UNC played in the second round of the NCAA tournament today. The girls in the house were especially happy because DOOK lost in the first round.
It was a great game, and it was close at the end. Sadly, UNC did not win.
Since we are a house divided, this is what daughter and dad looked like at the end. I guess we need to address poor sportsmanship issues….sigh.
A Saturday with temps in the 70s…woo hoo! Hanging out and dinner with our friends the Brothers…..pure awesomeness! We started at the Steel String Brewery with dinner to follow next door at Glass Half Full. Good food (a new fish dish for me) and fun was had by all!
When parents go to Steel String, kids get Boylan sodas….do not judge. Sugar is fine in small amounts.
Aidan and his friend Sam played Mancala while we enjoyed our drinks.
Currently Aidan and Sam are playing DS games via wifi (sheesh) upstairs during their sleepover. They are great friends, and I am so grateful they found each other….
