Samantha expressed an interest in trying out for the performance dance company at Studio A this year (you have to be at least 8 yrs old to try out, so she was on the younger end of girls trying out).
Try outs were last night, and she had a BLAST! Rahul took her since my car died in the grocery store parking lot earlier in the day….sigh. Only a dead battery, but I am so over all of these car problems! It feels like I spent the entire summer at the Toyota Service Dept/Enterprise Rental Car. The Big Gulp, as we call her, only has 180,000 miles which is not a lot for a Toyota. She should be able to give us at least another 100,000 miles. Crossing my fingers.
Now, back to the good news. We found out today that Samantha was accepted into the performance dance company. Here is the official notice.
She was SO excited when we told her! Bonus….she has 2 friends that will be dancing with her in the company. Now for the bad news….she had to oick between performance dance and year round swim team. It was a tough decision, but in the end dance won out. And she can still swim in the summer swim league, so all is not lost in that dept.
I love idea of her dancing with older girls as role models. She will get to do the fall and spring recital, and serve as a class helper for the really young dancers in the spring recital. What a great learning experience for her!
