middle school

There has been so much going on with Girls TALK that I have not been good about keeping the family blog updated. But I had to take a minute to update folks on Samantha’s visit to middle school last week.

Each day she and 9 other lower school 4th years spent the afternoon at the middle school. On Wed, she spent the ENTIRE day at the middle school with a first year middle schooler as her host….who happens to also be in Aidan’s advisee group. Aidan said that she talked about hosting Samantha “all day.” I LOVE that the older students get excited about showing the younger students “the ropes.” Samantha was over the moon after her day long visit, and I am confident about this school transition.

Now for Aidan and middle school. He came home with his Exploratorium packet this weekend. For the last 3 weeks of the school year, students can choose electives they wish to explore more. As Aidan and I read over the options, I was again impressed with the middle school. Here are his top choices for each week:

Exploring State Parks or In The Kitchen

National Treasures Trip to Washington DC or Comic Design

Discovering the Mysteries of Math or Trail Building at CFS

Wow, can I go back to middle school?
I am still trying to figure out how I will have 2 middle school age kiddos next year….time flies, huh?
