It has been almost a year (think Wilco concert last October) but Rahul and I managed a date night for dinner and a night out to see Jerry Seinfeld at the DPAC. We have had tickets for a while but learned a few weeks ago that tonight was performance dance try outs at Studio A. So….we needed a sitter and a way to get Samantha to and from try outs. This is after we had to coordinate my working on a Wed afternoon with Rahul also working (he usually works at home on Weds). The kids went to piano and tutoring with a friend and then I was supposed to pick them up at the tutoring. A great plan except one of the parents in my program thought we ended at 5:30pm, not 4:45pm. Thankfully Rahul was pulling in the driveway when I called to see if he could get the kiddos and we all ended up home before 6pm. Whew.
All to say, this date night was much needed, and it was worth the effort. Jerry has aged a bit since the Seinfeld show, but his laughs did not disappoint. I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.
And as I prepare to head to bed (staying up well past my bedtime….woo hoo) I am grateful for my husband who makes me do these things, out of my comfort zone, which are always worth it.
Still laughing, thanks Jerry 😉
