A BIG storm was predicted for North Carolina. The prediction kept changing… 3-4 inches, 4-6 inches, but by Friday morning the prediction went to 11-13 inches. In North Carolina, that is a big deal. I spent the day preparing.
We never have this much food in the house. I shop daily because of my afternoon Starbucks habit…. and we have a 13 year old who eats all the time.
If we lose power, we won’t have water because of our well.
Sinks closest to the instant hot water heater must drip to prevent pipes from freezing.
Heat pumps cannot heat homes when the temperatures drop into the teens. Plus we love all of our windows for bird watching…. but it can make for a cold home during snow events.
And then we woke up this morning… to this.
2 inches…. of ice. And 5 days of temperatures below freezing. Meteorology. The only job where you can be wrong 90% of the time and keep your job.
We are making the best of it, though. Heading to our neighborhood hang out to see if you can sled on ice. Wish us luck!
